By using PDFSmaller, you agree to these terms

These terms apply to all visitors and users of our PDF processing tools. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please do not use our service.

1. Service Description

PDFSmaller provides free, browser-based PDF processing tools including but not limited to:

  • PDF compression and optimization
  • PDF conversion (to/from various formats)
  • PDF editing and manipulation
  • PDF security features (password protection, unlocking)
  • PDF organization (merge, split, rotate)

All processing occurs client-side in your browser. We do not upload, store, or have access to your files.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use our service for:

  • Personal document processing
  • Business and commercial purposes
  • Educational and academic work
  • Any legal purpose that doesn't violate these terms

Our service is free for all users with no daily limits. Files up to 100MB are supported for most tools.

3. Prohibited Use

You must NOT use our service to:

  • Process illegal or copyrighted content without permission
  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or harm our service
  • Circumvent any security measures
  • Use automated scripts or bots excessively
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on others' intellectual property rights

4. User Responsibilities

As a user, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have the right to process the documents you upload
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of any sensitive documents
  • Making backup copies of important files before processing
  • Using the service in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Respecting the intellectual property rights of others

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE"

We make no warranties or representations about:

  • The accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the service
  • That the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • That defects will be corrected
  • That the service is free of viruses or harmful components

You use the service at your own risk. We recommend keeping backups of all important documents before processing.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

PDFSmaller and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or documents
  • Loss of profits or revenue
  • Business interruption
  • Loss of use or data corruption

This applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PDFSmaller, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

8. Privacy

Your use of our service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Since all processing happens in your browser, we never see or store your files. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.

9. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the service after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the appropriate courts.

11. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
